Nothing But Nets — Ten Dollars Sends a Net — Buy a Net Save A Life
A worthy and easy cause to get involved in. I’m posting this email hoping many of you will get involved in this effort, by donating, placing the information on your blog, or stating a team of your own. There is plenty of information at the web site on how you can form your own group, online or in real life. Please take a look at it.
You may also want to get involved more directly, so I left the information for the call for those serious about taking this further in their blog.
You can join a team or start your own team here, as well as just donating ten dollars or more for a net if you prefer.
The United Nations Foundation’s anti-malaria Nothing But Nets campaign, a grassroots effort to prevent malaria in Africa by providing life-saving bed nets. I’m reaching out to you because Nothing But Nets and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) have just launched a huge campaign to address a critically important and immediate need: delivering 275,000 bed nets to refugees in Africa. Malaria is the leading killer of refugees in Africa – and it’s important that we get bed nets to them now before it’s too late.
Over the next several months, we want to raise funds to send bed nets to 630,000 refugees in 27 camps in Uganda, Sudan, Kenya and Tanzania where the malaria burden is highest. We need your help to get the word out to your audience, because it’s so easy to help with this movement and be a part of the effort to send nets and save lives. $10 sends a net and saves a life.
If you’re interested in finding out more about the terrible nexus between refugees and malaria we’ll be hosting a conference call with malaria experts from the United Nations Foundation and the United Nations High Commission on Refugees on November 19. Please email Jenna Sauber (jsauber@unfoundation.org) if you’d like to participate on the call and ask the experts questions about this problem and what can be done about it.
Here are some details.

I just KNEW that you certainly had made a post about this too!
Isn’t it strange how people can close their eyes to all this suffering…?
My post about it:
Would you give 10 dollar to save a kid from dying?
