Justice – give me a break.

Justice and Equality Movement negotiator – Give me a break.

Via ABC News.

Small Rebel Group Won't Sign Darfur Plan I mean what? Do they sit around like old ladies in some old fashioned junior women's league allowing rape, destruction and horror to go on while they whine for a " second vice president".

This is all so pathetic I'm considering taking up arms myself.

I am reading this book called Skin Flutes & Velvet Gloves: Facts and Fancies, Legends and Oddities About the Body’s Private Parts by Dr. Terri Hamilton (sister of a blogger friend who sent it to me as a gift and yeah, bear with me, I have a point)… you can see it here.

The book is amazing and has many amazing details and facts… however, practically all of them with regards to women are pathetic… thoughout history we have been treated as mere objects, baby-making machines with no soul for men to do with as they please… you would not even believe the sick things that have been done to vaginas throughout the ages and to this day are still being done.

Indonesia, the Middle East, Africa… to name a few places that I remember mentioned in the book, still carry out female genital mutilation (and yes, about 150,000 girls suffer through that every year in the US too) and it tends to be done by those who know nothing about anatomy (of course) and with objects such as broken glass, razors and the like… most of the time the entire vulva is removed and this is performed on girls about the age of 5 normally… on babies sometimes they scrape the clitoris off with their nails… I am sickened as I recall this and my hands shake as I type…

It is also normal for infant girls as young as 3 months old to be raped in Africa…

My point… and the funny thing is I was talking about this with my husband this morning before reading this… is that my daughter is 5 and I relish in and cherish the fact that I am raising her to be a feminist, that she has such pride in her vagina, no shame and is a spitfire and I am raising her to be one… and at the exact same time, elsewhere in a different geographic location is a child her age, somewhere, being raped, beaten, mutilated and pretty much destroyed…

… and no one gives a flying fuck because if they did, with all these resources and all this power and all this money we would not have a planet with such problems… and then they wonder why I am angry.

If you take up arms, I will join you.

Sudan signs peace deal with Darfur faction
    Reuters – 1 hour, 19 minutes ago
ABUJA – The government of Sudan and the main Darfur rebel faction signed a peace agreement on Friday to end three years of fighting that has killed tens of thousands of people and forced 2 million to flee their homes. Majzoub al-Khalifa, head of the government’s negotiating team, and rebel Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) faction leader Minni Arcua Minnawi signed the agreement in the Nigerian capital Abuja after days of intense negotiations and international pressure.

Doesn’t necessarily mean an end to genocide, just politics as usual…

    Read this.
