Why is it.

31 Jul

Why is it that the world is up in arms about the death from the debacle that is going on in the Middle East and not up in arms about Darfur?

Why is the death toll in this current war expounded upon hourly on the national news and debate as to who is at fault it is and how to stop it is constant with continual analysis of policy in regard to both Israel and Lebanon, and what governmental pressures need to be applied go on continually in the media in regard to the Middle East but nothing in regard to Darfur.

Why is it that – unless someone like George Clooney has his face plastered all over the media – the media and the public do not feel continual outrage about Darfur…. the death the rapes the children starving and full of disease.

Think about it.

a significant part of this is that people in this country and in other countries as well do not relate to people in Africa as they do to people of Israel and even Lebananon. They think of Africa in terms of “tribes”.
It’s funny how people are selective in their outrage.
