Sudanese Red Cross Diver Killed in Darfur – AP

GENEVA, Switzerland (AP) — A Sudanese driver employed by the International Committee of the Red Cross has been killed in Darfur, the neutral body said Wednesday.

The 31-year-old, who was not immediately identified, was killed east of the Jebel Marra mountains in northern Darfur after having been abducted on August 16, the international Red Cross said in a statement.

“The ICRC is shocked by his death, which comes amid a deterioration in security conditions in Darfur that has claimed the lives of other humanitarian workers in recent weeks,” it said…
