Judgement on Genocide

10 Nov

While the election is over, Congress’s work is not yet done for the year. They still have $60 million to appropriate to the African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS). While this is a step in the right direction, it is up to us to tell them they must do more! STAND would like to invite all of you to join in a nationwide call-in day for Darfur on Wednesday, November 15, asking Congress to give more money to the African Union.

This Wednesday, November 15th, join thousands of students in calling your Senator or member of Congress and demanding that more funds be appropriated for Darfur peacekeeping!

Tell your elected officials that they must do more to stop this genocide. Their actions and inactions are not enough.

This weekend, over 150 students from Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio will gather at Northwestern University for the Great Lakes Regional Conference. With an impressive array of speakers and workshops, students in this region will come together to become better advocates for Darfur and learn how to more effectively organize their schools and communities to act!

You can follow what’s going on at this conference through a LIVE BLOG by Abroad View.
