Jet d’eau “bleeds” for Darfur

Jet d’eau “bleeds” for Darfur From Swiss Info.

Geneva’s landmark Jet d’eau will run red on Tuesday – International Justice Day – to symbolize the ongoing bloodshed and atrocities in Sudan’s western Darfur region.

I do not want to see the light at the end of the tunnel I want to be out of the tunnel. Switzerland has remained very quiet for the most part during these last four years, so running a fountain red is something. Something however is often the same old same old – nothing.

Let’s start talking about reaching the end of the tunnel not just seeing the light at the end of it.

You would be running that fountain red for a very long time to make up for all the blood lost in
Darfur.

Are you aware that 10 million have died in the Congo and mass rapes are occuring everyday? In the meantime western countries fuel the violence by selling weapons to both sides of the conflict. While the Africans are killing each other, Western countries are exploiting the diamonds and other natural resources of that country.

But it is important to address the travesties of the surrounding countries as well. Some of the members of the African Union’s peacekeeping forces come frome countries where there is still violence going on .
