The Lost Boy Carries the Flag, Cheek Disappointed in China’s Decision

Even as Joey Cheek’s Visa was revoked by China, muzzling yet another voice in support of basic human rights for the people of Darfur, Lost Boy, Lopez Lomong , a Team Darfur member, was successful in his campaign to be the U.S. flag bearer at the opening games of the Olympics.


Joey Cheek, co-founder of Team Darfur, is disappointed in China’s effort to suppress athletes voices regarding human rights.

Danielle Vyas has some Intel from: Reporters Without Borders. Protest being held worldwide outside Chinese embassies in London, Madrid, Berlin, Paris, Washington and Stockholm on 8 August. Two demonstrations will be organized on 7 August in Rome and Ottawa. A rally is also planned outside the Olympic Museum in the Swiss city of Lausanne.
