Darfur, Opinions.

22 Dec

Responding to the editorial in the New York Times, Darfur, Another Year Later, Denise Bell a Darfur campaigner with Amnesty International USA writes:

we must not forget what Darfuris directly affected by nearly six years of state-sponsored terrorism want — justice. Tens of thousands of Darfuris have signed petitions asking that the case against Mr. Bashir not be deferred. We must listen to them.

In “Protecting Darfurian Civilians, the ICC and the NCP, Hafiz Mohammed writes of the continued human rights violations in Darfur. Elaborating on the “ticking time bombs” in Sudan, he suggests only God knows what will happen.

I really do think that there should be a resolution to the indictment of Bashir. This could open a lot of door for peace in Sudan. I have been helping by means of education in Leer, Sudan, and that is The Emma Academy Project. They will be building a school and that school will be a center for learning there in Leer, Sudan.
